Dingyun Zhang x Moncler Genius

From the MA at Central Saint Martins straight to the design lab of the Yeezy compound. Dingyun Zhang's rise to stardom started in 2016 with his major contribututions to YEEZY SEASON 4, designing multiple bombers for the collection and assisting with major shoe designs like the YEEZY 700 Wave Runner series. Kanye returned the favor by supplying unreleased custom Foam RNNR for his graduate MA collection in 2020. Fast forward 2 years and it's only fitting that Ding is set to release his highly anticipated collaboration with powerhouse heritage outerwear brand Moncler. “I am all for big volumes that sculpt the body into new forms. I took inspiration from underwater creatures to devise pieces that float lightly, in a color palette that resembles the coral and fungi that naturally grow on top of sculptures submerged in the deep sea”. Dingyun's major references for this collection were the underwater sculpture of Jason deCaires Taylor, ice-fishing, airbags and other emergency inflatables.
